CACTUS KITCHEN
start up design services
2022

For Cactus Kitchen, a vegetarian food startup redefining everyday plant-based cooking, we provided schematic design for a new food market concept embedded within an existing supermarket.
The goal was to meet customers where they already shop and shift perceptions around accessible, nourishing vegetarian food. We worked closely with their head chef to co-design a space that reflected both their culinary ethos and operational needs.
Spatial Branding

Transitecture collaborated with founder and head chef to develop a proof-of-concept that could inform their site location selections as well as drive fundraising efforts.

As an early-stage company with a strategic budget, they needed design that doubled as business development. This is a core example of our approach: offering design services that are not only spatial, but also catalytic for young, mission-driven ventures.

When The Guild approached us in 2017, the cannabis retail industry was still navigating early legalization and unclear regulations in California. Our role was to help invent a new kind of space—what should a cannabis dispensary be when there’s no precedent?
New Typologies

With a limited scope and budget, we led a focused pre-design discovery process that clarified brand values and operational needs, and set a vision for a new typology.
We supported handoff to a design/fabrication partner, translating early strategy into actionable design. This is where we thrive—defining the unknowns, shaping firsts, and guiding early ventures through messy, high-potential beginnings.

Compelling Storytelling
First we work with our clients to understand how to most effectively support their project. Our work will usually include a targeting research phase and a proof-of-concept design phase.
Our materials are useful for a variety of purposes, often we prepare research and graphics that are used for fundraising and better understanding the business model variables
We collaborate across disciplines, either assembling teams in-house or working with a client's team. Our visual communication methods are developed to best fit the needs of the team.
Depending on the needs of the project we can provide design materials, diagrams, and/or full pitch deck or investor facing material packages.

Serendipia approached us in an early, exploratory phase. Through a design-led discovery process, we helped clarify their core values and operational direction—translating abstract ideas into a spatial identity they could build on.

With deep experience in hospitality and adjacent tourism-focused topics, we were able to frame key spatial decisions within broader branding and business goals. This short, targeted engagement empowered their team with strategic tools for growth and transition.
